In April 2025, on the occasion of the Festa di Primavera hosted by the Royal Museums of Turin, the replica of the allegory of Primavera—created by TORART using ROBOTOR’s robotic systems for the Reggia di Venaria Reale—was unveiled.
The original sculpture, carved between 1740 and 1753 by Simone Martinez, nephew of Filippo Juvarra and a leading figure of the late Baroque period at the Savoy court, was part of the group The Four Seasons created for the Alfieri Rondò of the Reggia and later moved to the Royal Gardens during the Napoleonic era. With the return of the statues to their original location, TORART was commissioned to create the replica, restoring to the Giardino di Levante of the Royal Museums the historical presence of the sculptural ensemble.
Carved in marble, the new Primavera was realized through a process that integrates 3D scanning, digital modeling, robotic milling, and manual finishing—a continuous dialogue between innovation and tradition.
The “copy” thus becomes an act of preservation and rebirth, not a mere imitation but a continuation of the artistic gesture, capable of safeguarding and renewing the memory of heritage.
The project was accompanied by a catalogue featuring photographs by Laura Veschi, documenting the stages of the work, and an essay outlining LITIX’s philosophy: bringing the art of marble into the future by merging the heritage of the workshop with the precision of contemporary technology.
